About This Game Until I Have You, is a story-driven, fast-paced, retro-aesthetic platformer, engulfed in a Cyberpunk setting.Driving you to the edge of your seat as you run n' gun through enemies, the game recounts a thrilling story of regret, love and corruption, in a city that’s gone haywire and just doesn't give a damn. This is the story of the ARTIST, a talented assassin, who has worked many dirty jobs in a long and successful career. Finally heeding the pleadings of his wife, he has decided it's time to quit this ugly business and live a simple and peaceful life. However the ARTIST’s clients know he is irreplaceable, and are unwilling to allow the craftsman to hangup his tool belt. They send him this message by kidnapping his wife, Emily, and make it clear, retirement is not an option! The ARTIST is determined to get his wife back, and prepares himself for one last assignment. He understands to be successful he needs to go all out, and he procures a rare exoskeleton suit. Although this provides him with additional powers, it also can cause hallucinations and affect his judgment. If you could save someone, how much of yourself would you be willing to sacrifice?Features: 12 Chapters of immersive story-telling Beautifully pixelated environments Fast paced action Over 60 unique Enemies and 12 Boss Fights. First of all, the animation is not smooth, but jerky and too fast - when you run on turbo (which you must on many levels, since they are timed). all you see is a stuttery blur. Compare it to the top class platformers like Strider, and your eyes will hurt. Everything is way too fast and jerky, the equipment is not interesting, combat is simplistic to absurdity (just hit'em, okay?). I can appreciate the attempts to innovate, the variation of environments and obstacles, but the core gameplay always brings it down. I forced myself to suffer through several levels (five, I think?) just to see the bosses and the animations, but I cannot continue, the gameplay is just too painful, constant repetition and memorization of levels is simply a bad design. The characters are interesting, and everything hints to a rich universe and backstories, but there is simple too little narration. The weeby voice with forced psycho trembling is fitting, but seems over the top.I would probably pay around 20$ for a full adventure game in this universe, provided that the story and the characters are interesting. I am a great fan of Primordia, guys, it was a masterpiece, but this game is simply a whiff. Sorry.. This game is hard as f**k. I have tried mouse and keyboard control. None of them make the game easier. The difficulty in control and the puzzlement in boss fight make this game quite challenging. Besides gameplay, the atmosphere of this game is good. It is like a mixture of a creepy horror and cyberpunk.. A mixed bag of a game, "Until I Have You" feels like a contraption jury-rigged by a savant technomancer somewhere in the city sprawl of 2077: brilliant and horrible ideas, rough edges and state-of-the-art components, all put together with duct tape. It makes you battle against its interface, it frustrates you, it delights you.Gameplay-wise, it tries to be a super-fast and super-violent platformer, a cross between "Canabalt" and "Hotline Miami", and the best levels do manage to achieve this high bar. The problem is, however, that "Until I Have You" tries to be fast and minimalistic, but at the same time to have lots of different features. As the result, it keeps shooting itself in the leg, slowing the gameplay down so you can try all the mechanics. Superfast running and jumping stumbles upon cover shooting, choosing the right weapon to destroy obstacles, stealth action and other legitimately cool stuff that just doesn't mix together well. The large variety of features also makes the gameplay very incosistent. For example, in the beginning you die in one shot. Then they add Hysteria meter that punishes you for killing enemies (and makes you wait for a solid minute for it to regenerate -- so much for superfast). Then Hysteria suddenly turns into a health bar substitute: enemy attacks rise it, but killing them doesn't anymore. There's no solid mechanic, "Until I Have You" turns into something slightly different (still very enjoyable, though just as messy) with each next level. It's such a mess that sometimes I had no idea if I have played the game the way it was intended, or abused a design flaw. The story is pretty incoherent, which is ok for the Cyberpunk genre: after all, most of the classic works have unreliable narrators, unhinged characters, lots of drugs and/or mental issues, amnesia, hallucinations and cryptic symbols. To tell the truth, I don't trust writers who make cyberpunk stories too clear: it kills the "punk" part, turning it into simply SciFi. "Until I Have You"'s story is messed up just right: enough for you to have a general idea what's going on, how it started and how it ends. The atmosphere and the characters are done very well in terms of writing, art, music and voice acting. The urban sprawl is genuine with its neon, dirt and rain, the characters are either insane or corrupt, the politics are shady, and the plot twists go as expected. In addition to the well-done cutscenes, you can watch TV between the levels to get some news about your misadventures, or see some ads that give you insights into the world's dystopian daliy life."Until I Have You" is a real treat for any cyberpunk fan. For a regular gamer, it's still enjoyable, though hardly above average.. Solid game. Gamepad controls worked just fine for me. Used an xbox360 controller. The difficulty is there and learning level and boss fight patterns is satisfying once you're able to abuse them. The story is good and dark. I 100% all the levels so I can say that if you're in to action platformers with mega man like bosses, it's worth it to give this game a try.. Love this game. Great atmosphere, fast and challenging platforming, surprisingly great voice acting, amazing soundtrack, and a story that makes you want to keep playing to see what happens. It's been a long time since I sat down and felt compelled to play a game for several hours straight like I did with this one. Yes, this game has some tough and tight platforming but this is why you are given certain abilities and mechanics, it's just a matter of applying them. If you don't mind a bit of challenge and love atmospheric games I highly recommend this.. I see a wonderful game with unique mechanics hiding in here but it crashes so frequently I cannot get past the first stage. The story seems well layered and the game is drenched in atmosphere and that's what frustrates me so much that I cannot recommend you get this title in its current state. I have a core I7 at 4 ghz, a GTX 960, and 16 GB of ram with a SSD but most importantly I have WINDOWS 10. Even in compatibility mode it will not make it 5 minutes without crashing. Sad. Also it doesn't support any logical resolutions for HD monitors, only wonky ones like 1280x1000 that clip off the bottom and top and leave two black bars on the side. But by all means give it a go if you're willing to work with the comunity here ot get it running because the developer is extremely open to assisting you.*EDIT*After turning on directdraw and running in window mode all my issues are gone and I'm currently enjoying the hell out of this game. GET IT NOW WHILE ITS STILL ON SALE ITS A STEAL!
