In it's current state I cannot recommend the game. The UI will randomly vanish making progressing impossible as you can't selevt new buildings to be placed, your spells or anything from the bottom panel as it no longer exists. Camera movement is clunky at best and completely unresponsive at worst. The amount of resources you get vs the cost to craft things is rediculous as someone else has said it takes 10 logs for a house, 5 for a bow. . . . WHAT? That bow better be a mobile ballista at that amount of wood (it is not). The game is not without potential it just is not ready yet and should still be in a closed alpha state till a somewhat stable and playable version is ready.. Got this game from a IndieGala scratch ticket. Install was 250MB instead of 1.5GB. No controller support right now, X-Padder helps with that. Love the music, the graphics, the side scroller and resource/building element. It seems to be difficult. I've made it to the fourth night so far, supposed to live for 360 days? Very smooth running game, even on 256MB Graphics xD. Kudos to this game and I hope it progresses.. Let's get to the point.. It's a nice concept of a game but, it lacks in everthing. Lots of glitches, no proper UI to tell you that you are under attack by animals that is. I could write a proper review but i cant be a arsed. Fix the glitches and better UI.As of right now I can't give it a recommendation. Gameplay still hasn't changed from a playlist on youtube I watched 2 years ago.EDIT:Developer inmediatly responded to my review and didn't reply with an automated reply like most Triple A devs sometimes do. I got respect for that. As for some glitches are: I couldn't reproduce anymore for a while even though I had 10\/12 villagers, it got fixed after I build my 3rd house. Sometimes skeletons spawn inside my town (after i got the 2nd Gate on my right side of the castle. It keeps spawning behind my 1st gate on the right) Also I don't know if its supposed to be a feature but my archer towers can't attack if they are behind a gate and the enemies are attacking the gate.Also there was this glitch which made me unpossible to do anything after I dismantled a well. All the buildings were red as if I was still demolishing something, the demolishing symbol was active aswell. I tried everything like press ESC and try to command my villagers or hero, it wouldn't work. I had to make a new save because of it.For the reason you are developing the game alone and responding fast to my review I'm going to change it to recommended.. Awesome game!. Promising, but won't recommend the current state due to :Extremely buggy, tutorial and tooltip isn't very helpful.. Sadly I don't see how I can recommend it. I gave it a try, as I love strategy and resource management games, and it simply does not manage to keep me interested. The game feels clunky (the interface is subpar at best), and only a few parts of the resource management can be automated (I don't think you can automate farming, for instance), which is not great for a "strategy" game (imagine sending a worker in starcraft to the mineral patch manually every time). I realize it's early access, but the game just doesn't feel... fun.. Steam doesn't decide for you whether you like a game or not. So let fate decide if you can opt for a refund or not on a game. 2 weeks is not enough time to decide if you wasted your money or not. When I find a game that appeals to me in one way or another i may buy it. But because of Steams policy of no refunds after 2 weeks or longer I decided to have second thoughts on buying any games unless I think it's worth the risk to try it. 2 rules i made for myself. 1. dont buy mixed review games.2. try to only buy discounted games. unless the game looks extraoridanary good and affordable.These rules i made the mistake in not utilizing with a few of my purchases. And I have a few games I rather I didnt buy.Now the review:I like the idea of this game try to survive.But the graphics could be a little better.Gameplay is ok.Mechanics I had a little trouble with these.Tutorial seems to let the player learn a few things.There should be a way for the player to know what KILLED the villager.I can only guess I starved because my rations were set wrong.Overall i give this game 4/10. It seems learnable but I rather know whats going on rather than guessing.
